Norman D. Neeley, 95, of Claremont, Illinois, passed away on Monday June 10, 2013 at 3:03 PM at Burgin Manor, Olney, Illinois.
Norman was born in Martin Township, Crawford County, Illinois on June 8, 1918. He was the son of Elmer D. and Daisy (Kirk) Neeley. On July 15, 1942 he married Jessie Jewell Brownfield, who preceded him in death on January 21, 2011.
Norman was a retired farmer. He farmed in both “The Bend”area and south of Claremont, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII and was discharged as a Sergeant in October 1945. He attended Seed Chapel United Methodist Church in his youth. Norman enjoyed coon hunting and fishing.
Norman is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law Dean Neeley of Claremont, IL, and Kevin and Aracely Neeley of Houston, TX; a daughter Beth Gall of Birmingham, AL; twin grandson Zachary and Brennan Neeley of Houston, TX;two nieces Betty Smothers and Pauline Sanders both of Oblong, IL; and one nephew Keith Neeley of Kansas City, MO.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Burial will be in Berlin Cemetery south of Oblong and Military Rites will be conducted by Oblong American Legion Post #219
